Harriet discovered the English-Speaking Union while working as an English and drama teacher, having trained at the world-renowned UCL Institute of Education. Inspired by the power of oracy to drive social mobility, she became a passionate advocate for equipping young people with the confidence and communication skills they need to thrive. During her time in the classroom, she became an active member of the ESU.
Now the ESU’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Harriet combines her creative background and strategic insight to help extend the organisation’s reach and impact, ensuring more schools and students — both in the UK and internationally — benefit from its programmes. She is currently undertaking a Level 6 Extended Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Outside of work, Harriet draws on her experience as a classical singer and stand-up comedian, and can often be found enjoying London’s vibrant theatre scene.
